Summary:
“Usability” is one of the keys of the Human-Computer Interaction. Although its definition has been discussed for decades, the concept is still being agreeing. “Usability” generally refers to software systems but also can be applied to products and services. The “user experience” goes beyond the three dimensions of the generally accepted usability: effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction. The “user experience” not limited to software, applying concept as above, to products and services. As for the “customer experience” is emerging a broader concept, focusing on the growing emphasis design service. In this seminar the concepts of “usability”, “user experience” and “customer experience” and some evaluation methods will be discussed.

Brief Bio:
Cristian Rusu is professor at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso (PUCV) of Chile. He holds a PhD in Applied by the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca in Romania. He has worked in several software companies and research institutes in Romania and Chile. He is a member of the editorial board of several journals and program committee of several important international conferences in the area of ​​usability. His research interests include Human-Computer Interaction, Usability, User Experience and Customer Experience. He has been president of the Chilean Chapter of ACM-SIGCHI and currently is director of the research group “UseCV” PUCV.
