The Faculty of Social Sciences and Law of Elche and the Department of Statistics, Mathematics and Computer Science, in collaboration with the Research and Innovation, announces the First Contest \"STATS GAME: the awakening of the data,\" with which it is intended to disclose the usefulness of statistics in non-university educational levels.\r\n\r\n\u00a0\r\nWho can participate?\r\n\r\nall registered students may participate in any degree of the UMH. Participation will be in groups of two students. Only one entry per student is allowed.\r\n\r\n\u00a0\r\nWhat is the work to be presented?\r\n\r\nContest participants will hold a dissemination workshop related to Statistics and Operations Research, aimed at students in non-university educational levels. The aim is to encourage students' interest in these statistics as a fundamental tool in research, both experimental sciences and social sciences.\r\n\r\n\u00a0\r\nAwards\r\n\r\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0First prize: Two TABLET point of view 10p c 1GB 8GB tab p1080\r\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Second prize: Two EBOOK 8GB Energy eReader screenlight 6p\r\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Third prize: Two iTunes gift cards worth \u20ac 30\r\n\r\nAll participating students will receive a certificate attesting to their participation in the contest.\r\n\r\nBesides the prizes, the winners workshops will be able to be taught in:\r\n\r\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0II edition of the Fair of Science and Technology of Elche.\r\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Hall Junior School Summer UMH\r\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Aula Urbana UMH\r\n\r\n\u00a0\r\nJury\r\n\r\nThe jury will be formed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation for Technological Innovation, Asunci\u00f3n Mart\u00ednez Mayoral, by the mathematician popularizer member of The Big Bang Theory, Santiago Garc\u00eda Cremades and the Deputy Dean of the Degree in Business Statistics, Maria Victoria Herranz Square.\r\n\r\nThe winning entries will be selected according to the following criteria:\r\n\r\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ability to stimulate interest in statistics.\r\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Quality statistical content.\r\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ability to report the usefulness of statistics in our daily lives.\r\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Efforts by students.\r\n\r\nStudents will present their work on March 9 sessions of 5 minutes or less in length.\r\n\r\nParticipation in the competition implies knowledge and acceptance of these bases.
